The National Disability Data Asset Council (the Council) met on 18 February 2025. During this meeting the Council agreed:

  • to the 2025 plan for community engagement
  • that the first Australian Government funded research projects that will start in 2025 will be valuable to people with disability.

The Council also agreed to a plan to improve the disability indicators; this includes updating the name to disability flags. Disability flags are types of information about disability. The Council agreed it is important for the community to understand the disability flags and their limitations. More information about disability flags is available on the insights page of the National Disability Data Asset website.

The Council talked about the proposed work for the two new panels that will be set up. These panels will be the Children and Young People Panel and the Employment Panel.

The Council were also given an update on applications from researchers to access the data.

The next meeting of the Council will be in May 2025.
