The National Disability Data Asset Council met on 21 May 2025. During this meeting the Council agreed: - to update the work of the Disability-informed Ethical Oversight Panel. They also agreed the Panel members would continue to the end of 2025. - that there would be a review next financial year. This would allow more time for use of the data to be considered in the review. The Council also talked about First Nations research. It wants to make sure research is not likely to cause harm to First Nations people and communities. The Council agreed more work needs to be done on this. Dr Lisa Stafford, the chair of the Panel and another Panel member presented at the meeting. The Council gave feedback on the Panel’s draft guide on inclusive research using administrative data. The National Disability Data Asset contains administrative data which has been de-identified. The Council also received an update on the progress of data being added to the National Disability Data Asset. The next meeting of the Council is planned for August 2025.
