The Department of Social Services, in partnership with the Australian Bureau of Statistics and Australian Institute of Health and Welfare are leading this phase of the National Disability Data Asset.
The National Disability Data Asset will be co-designed and co-governed with state and territory governments, and the disability sector.
The Department of Social Services is planning to consult with the disability sector on the National Disability Data Asset throughout 2023.
The National Disability Data Asset Pilot was delivered by nine partners:
Australian Government agencies:
- The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet
- The Department of Social Services
- National Disability Insurance Agency
- Technical Project Team (based in the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare with support from the Australian Bureau of Statistics)
State and territory governments:
- National Project Team (based in the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet)
- Governments of New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia
During the National Disability Data Asset Pilot, data was linked from the Commonwealth, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia, and the National Disability Insurance Agency.
The Pilot was informed by the National Disability Data Asset Disability Advisory Council. The Council engaged the disability community and provided guidance to the project throughout the Pilot phase.
